When you break down evolution into single generations and single moments of life, what do you get?
Moment-by-moment adaptation.
Life and happiness are all about adaptation. Meditation is the awareness of how you're doing and being - moment-by-moment it's called mindfulness.
Every animal must adapt in order to survive and thrive. The death rate is high, survival of the fittest takes a hefty toll.
But there's a difference between you and every other animal.
The difference between you and every other animal on this planet is that you don't have one but thousands of niches to choose from.
A monkey or a hummingbird or a shark or a whatever-non-human is pretty much stuck in its natural environment. All species have spent millions of years adapting to their niches, and one individual (non-human) animal's tools are limited.
They have very few options. They can't buy food or clothes. A monkey can't suddenly decide that it's fed up with trees and bananas, take off from Africa and move to Paris to become a painter.
But you can decide to become whatever you want.
The question is, do you build on your genes and experiences to pursue something you're passionate about? What is your ideal niche?

There's not 7 keys, 10 steps etc. This key is universal, it does not matter where you're from.
First, what is meditation really about?
Meditation means awareness - it's everything you perceive, good and bad. Perception is reality, so meditation really is everything. And all meditation techniques are about focus.
There are 2 pure types of meditation/focus.
- Mantra is any specific point of focus.
- Mindfulness is all the mantras you can think of, and the way you feel about them moment-by-moment. It's about perspective.
Meditation has nothing to do with sitting still.
There's always movement, change, adaptation - life never sits still. Life is always selecting, adapting, surviving, and dying.
So what is human life all about?
It is about the need for true, evolved happiness. Based on 3 billion years of animal cell evolution, 50,000 years of human history, and based on so many scientific studies...
It has taken me 27 years to find this answer. It's essentially the center of meditation and the core of happiness. They are one powerful, tightly knit family. They connect all meditation techniques.
And they have a powerful, healthy impact on your family as well as on your mind and body.
But who are 'they'?
They are mindfulness and compassion. Absolute mindfulness/detachment is the underlying philosophical basis for resetting your mind for powerful compassion. Mindfulness and compassion may take you in a different direction than the one you're currently on.
Perhaps you've been conditioned to believe and do something that's irrelevant to who you truly are. It's very common, sad really.
By detaching from your concept of self you're able to perceive your true self, your signature strengths and passions. Especially during compassion and mindfulness meditation techniques.
Building on thousands of books and scientific studies and tracing them all to the very heart of human evolution... The only "secret" to success and the only natural path in life is optimal adaptation. Optimal adaptation is the foundation of evolved happiness, and the key to your success.

In the human brain reason and emotion always interact. Church and state may be separated in our societies, but church/emotion and state/reason are never separated in our minds. Negative emotions interact with negative reasons and vice versa.
When you do the things you love, you're unaware of time flying, you're in the zone. This is called "flow" in positive psychology.
When you meditate and develop love and compassion for yourself, you'll inevitably see, feel, and become aware of your true passions, your most treasured experiences. You will become aware of your destiny, your perfect niche, your place for optimal adaptation.
Survival of the fittest is about survival of the most stable and stress-resistant. The antidote to distress is compassion. This website proves that survival of the fittest equals survival of the most compassionate.
And from every conceivable angle, compassion is the key to your stress-resistant, successful survival. Unfortunately, even acclaimed dictionaries fail to define compassion properly.
True happiness/success is about showing compassion for yourself.
