When searching for suitable meditation chairs or cushions, what should you look for? Well, it depends on what purpose you want them for. Your choice also depends on which position you prefer to meditate in.

For the sitting position, and if you want a meditation chair for your home, I recommend using a sturdy straight-backed one such as a traditional dining room chair.

Make sure that the seat padding is firm and not too thick. You do not want to slump while you meditate because it adds pressure to your lumbar spine.
