"Guided Meditation In The Workplace"

This technique for meditation in the workplace borrows from progressive relaxation and breathing meditation. It's a very easy meditation technique.

Here we're going to assume that you're in a busy environment and have a complete lack of privacy. Still, no one will notice that you're taking a nice little break from stress...

Here's our Disclaimer.

And here's how to do it...

  1. Toes: Curl your toes against the floor and dig into it. Hold it and internally count to 10... As you reach 10, internally relieve your tension with an "Ahhh" of relaxation as you s-l-o-w-l-y exhale while relaxing your muscles completely.

Like this... Hold for 10. Then "Ahhh – Let go of tension" simultaneously. And relax while internally counting to 10.

B-r-e-a-t-h-e, slowly, deeply... Feel the tension in your toes and ankles melt away, your feet becoming heavy.

  2. Jaws: Now clench your jaws. Hold it. Breathe through your nose while counting to 10... Then internal "Ahhh" and relax your jaws.

Breathe s-l-o-w-l-y. Feel your jaws relax and become heavy.

Repeat 3-5 times.

Further tips

You can also do this easy meditation technique while you're in your car.

BUT do not curl your toes if you're moving and your foot is on the gas...

Instead, switch #1) with fists/hands while sticking to the same principle of 10 second holds, then "Ahhh – tension relief."

You can do it while gripping the steering wheel.

And alone in your car you can audibly sigh with relief. For this meditation in the work place, unless you have your own private office, you might not want to sigh with relief out loud...

An "Ahhh" of pleasure and relief may be greeted with curiosity.
